Rumpel snores in his sleep— deep sleep, with his chin propped up on her head when she lays down flat, or hooked over her shoulder when she leans up to read. Even in his sleep, he is reluctant to let her go.

It’s what she’s doing on this morning. Reading. She feels him press against the back of her hip and breathes. “What’re reading?” Gold’s breath tickles the back of her neck.

“Wuthering Heights,” Belle says.

He rubs his face against the silk shirt that she’s wearing— his, in fact. “Awfully depressing.”
